Queer Gamers is a free community social group for LGBTIQ people aged from around 20 to 30 in which we socialise while casually playing board games.
The group provides a safe space for young queer people, with the main focus that people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds feel welcomed and encouraged to attend. The majority of people who attend are international students who have found it difficult to find other LGBTIQ friends while living in Adelaide, however we still welcome members who wouldn’t identify as being from a culturally diverse background!
Our favourite games at the moment are Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride and Catan, however we are always on the lookout to expand our collection. But don’t worry if you’ve never played board games before as most of our members learn as we play! Even if you are a complete novice, don’t hesitate to come along – the most rewarding aspect of Queer Gamers is making connections with new friends.
Queer Gamers is held at SAMESH, 57 Hyde Street, Adelaide and goes from 2.30PM to 6PM fortnightly on a Saturday with free snacks and drinks. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us at QueerGamers.Contact@gmail.com.
